Dave’s Watchman notes

I keep a pocket notebook handy while reading an important book. Here are my notes, which undergo a sort of transformation as I type them. Page numbers reflect the library book edition.

p.37 – that’s not the trash – that’s the MAN.

p.76 – one or t’other

tolerate small ‘c’ corruption – allow for the perfidy of our ancestors

p.95 – isaiah – go set a watchman – let him DECLARE what he sees

p.133 – “on the 30th sept. she would kill herself.”

p.197 …bloodless reconstruction this ?

p.239 react as per “kind” then use “head”

p.247 “I grew upright here in your house, and I never knew what was in your mind. I only heard what you said.”

p.271 prejudice, a dirty word and faith a clean one begin where reason ends.
